The Festival Of The Sun 2013 lineup has been revealed, with a full compliment of Australian talent wrangled together for this December’s special Black Friday Edition.

Situated in the picturesque surrounds of the Port Macqaurie seaside and entering its ninth year, Festival Of The Sun has quietly carved a name for itself as one of the best-kept secrets on the Aussie music festival calendar.

With its boutique 3,000 capacity at an intimate, single stage, and the ever-desirable BYO policy, FOTSUN – the awesome acronym it colloquially goes by – is gearing up for another successful run this December, and given where the dates fall for the two-day weekend, organisers have hit upon a special theme for this year, marked as the Black Friday Edition.

Topping the Festival Of The Sun 2013 lineup is the invincible You Am I, who continue their stellar live run after finishing up their Daily Double tour, playing their classic early albums Hourly, Daily and Hi Fi Way live in their entirety.

Joining the Aussie rock headliners are the swaggering soul of The Rubens, Ash Grunwald – who will be playing with his Gargantua outfit of Scott & Andy from The Living End – Adelaide’s humorous and hairy The Beards, Melbourne rockers Kingswood, and Stonefield, with the Findlay sisters rocking tunes from their anticipated, self-titled debut album.

Also on the Festival Of The Sun 2013 lineup are hip hop individuals Spit Syndicate, The Basics (feat. one Wally ‘Gotye’ De Backer on the drums), the indie sounds of Glass Towers, Sydney’s Tigertown, folk infused band The Good Ship, the rattling chains of Howlin Steam Train, and many more.

All will be helping take part in the Black Friday theme for Festival Of The Sun 2013, meaning costume options based on a Mexican-style day of the dead, Halloween get-up, face-paint wigs, and the usual animal onesies too – you name it – while a prize will be handed out to the best FOTSUN festival-goers.

“When we found out that this year’s FOTSUN was to fall on the notorious Friday 13th, we knew immediately what we had to do,” said Festival Director Scott Mesiti back in May of the spooky theme.

Tickets to the beachside summer party are $160 (+ b/f) per person and includes two nights free camping accom. Tickets will be released on 3rd September at 10am through www.fotsun.com, and with only 3,000 tickets available, you need to be snappy on the trigger as previous year’s have sold out in record time. Festival of the Sun is an 18’s + event and children under 10 are free accompanied by an adult. BYO rules still apply, strictly no glass.
