By the end of every week there are a bunch of music-related stories, cool links, videos, and other internet ditties that are a little on the trashy side.

As a remedy to this, we’re happy to introduce our new column Trash Can– our avenue for sharing the funny, the weird, and the downright tacky music stories of the week. Enjoy!

Courtney Love Funded Hole By Stripping

We don’t want to ruin her pristine image or anything, but the frontwoman for Hole recently divulged in an interview with L.A. Weekly  that she helped pay for the early days of the band by stripping for a living. “I worked at Nude, Nude, Nude! Century Lounge near the airport. I worked at Seventh Veil… I got to work in the day. To me back then, 300 bucks in a day was fine. I was able to do the kind of stripper economy which is … for every $5 I made, I would give Eric Erlandson three of them and that’s how we bought our van and we bought our backline.” She cared about the band SO much, that she even promised not to spend her stripper money on drugs “I was like, OK, when I make a million dollars, then I’ll do all the drugs I want. Which I did, by the way.” What a rockstar.

Ru Paul Gives Henry Rollins’ Lady Advice

The legendary rocker and Black Flag frontman may not how to tear up a stage like nobody else, but apparently when it comes to lovin’ he needs a little bit of help. Cue the hilarious, and super wise professional drag queen and entertainer Ru Paul. Taking a ride as part of the webseries RuPaul Drives “I think it’s important to taste everything from the buffet.” and “allow people to see those icky bits”. Maybe surprisingly, Rollins’ takes the conversation extremely seriously, and provides us with a funny insight into what a therapy session with him might look like.

Trent Reznor Was Investigated By The FBI

Thanks to a new column on Consequence Of Sound where they dig up old and forgotten videos from the interwebs and beyond, we were reminded of one of the best moments ever to happen to alternative rock. Rewind to 1989 when Reznor and co. were filming the video for ‘Down In It’ in which Reznor slips and falls off a building to his death before decaying into a gross looking corpse. Somehow, a videotape of the ‘dead’ frontman made it into the hands of a farmer from Michigan who promptly called the police, who, as CoS report  “then called the FBI, who then launched a nationwide investigation under the assumption that the man featured in the video was actually dead, and what they were watching was a snuff film.”

Drake Spends Owes Over $75k To A Stylist, Is Officially Not The Coolest Rapper Anymore

Don’t get us wrong, we love Drake. We love his music, we love his relationship with Rihanna, and most of all we love his role on Degrassi. So when it was announced that he spends upwards of $30,000 a month, it’s fair to say a lot of fans were surpassed, considering that as far as hip-hop artists go, he’s pretty humble.  As TMZ reports, “a stylist formerly employed by the rapper has filed a lawsuit against Drake, claiming Drake owes him $76,490 as of December 2012 … including consulting services, hotel bills, plane tickets, and endless shopping expenses.” Who knew t-shirts and sports jerseys were so expensive?
