You Am I, Regurgitator, Something For Kate’s Paul Dempsey, and more talented Australian artists are coming together to play a benefit concert for Geelong footballer Casey Tutungi.

With just six days to go, the set times and further information for A Show For Casey – organised by Falls Festival promoter Simon Daly – have been revealed.

The You Am I All-Stars will close out the all-ages event, to be held at Kardina Park (Simonds Stadium) in Geelong on Sunday 29th September to raise money for the family of Casey Tutungi.

The Geelong local’s heartbreaking story has been heard and felt across the country. Fundraising efforts are still crucial to support the 28 year old receiving care required after his horrific football accident and resulting spinal injury as he and his partner, Bridget, are also preparing for the arrival of their first baby.

Falls promoter Simon Daly has rallied the music industry to Tutungi’s plight, hoping to sell around 20,000 tickets and raise at least half a million dollars towards the young footballer’s recovery.

Some of Australia’s top acts have thrown their weight and musical prowess behind Casey’s cause and will be performing at this special one-off event in Geelong, headlined with a vintage set of classics from You Am I, who will be joined on stage by some very special guests to form the ‘All-Stars’ supergroup.

In a recent interview about the All-Stars set, You Am I frontman Tim Rogers remarked it would contain: “Nothing but heart. It’s an honour to be asked to play. Some surprises no doubt… We want to give something back for our fortune,” said Rogers; “And playing music is what we do – come and enjoy and as a community give a hand to who I’ve heard more than once is a great kid and a warm family who needs some help. It’s about a future.”

Also on the lineup for A Show For Casey are Something for Kate’s Paul Dempsey, Regurgitator, Lisa Mitchell, Missy Higgins, Adalita, The Bamboos, Dan Sultan and Yacht Club DJs. An all ages performance (where children under 12 are admitted for free) with a low ticket price of $50 (+ b/f), there’s never been a better way to help support a worthy cause. All proceeds from the concert will go towards The Casey Tutungi Appeal.
