Bred in Lismore but now Sydney based, four-piece Zeahorse fuse apocalyptic noise-rock, propulsive post-hardcore, industrial sludge and guttural grunge on their debut album, ‘Pools’.

Channelling the twisted energy of classic acts like Slint, Fugazi and The Jesus Lizard, ‘Pools’ is a record that delivers on Zeahorse’s famed live experience with a punctuated aggression that ebbs and flows seamlessly through the thick mud of solitary confinement to the fractured kaleidoscopics of smoking a joint and staring into the sun.

For ‘Pools’, the band returned to their spiritual home – the rolling hills of north coast NSW – to record the album in a small town called Whian Whian. It was recorded by Steve Law at Sunroom Studios to 1-inch tape on a 16-track Tascam tape machine.

The band camped out in the backyard throughout, becoming deeply entrenched in the process, and after six days they came out the other side with a record they are proud to call ‘Pools’.

The rest is history and you’ll need to hear for yourself when the album comes out – Friday 27th September on HUB The Label.
