Following on from the first acts of the music lineup being revealed last month, the full Melbourne Music Week 2013 program has now been unveiled.

Taking place from 15th to the 24th November this year, Melbourne Music Week 2013 will feature over 230 performers across 110 events hosted in 60 CBD venues.

Joining the already announced list, which includes Pantha Du Prince and The Bell Laboratory, Nosaj Thing, The Bats, Gold Fields, Beaches, Boomgates, and Yacht Club DJs, is a series of unique concerts, curated concert series, label-backed programs, and music-savvy events.

The lion’s share of music events will be hosted at Melbourne Music Week’s 2013 flagship pop-up venue, The Residence. Following on from last year’s successful pop-up Where?House venue, The Residence is a collaboration with the People’s Market located on the banks of Birrarung Marr.

Among the newly announced Melbourne Music Week 2013 events, Singhala Music will be hosting a Music Revue at The Residence on Tuesday 19th November to celebrate its third birthday, showcasing eight of the city’s best bands: Dan Kelly’s Dream Band, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Robin Fox Laser Show, The Murlocs, Fraser A Gorman & Courtney Barnett, Harmony, Baptism Of Uzi, and The Frowning Clouds.

Beloved indie label Chapter Music are also throwing a birthday bash at the same venue the following night, commemorating 21 years of age at The Residence on Wednesday 20th November with dolewave faves Twerps and Dick Diver teaming up for a live set, along with label stars Geoffrey O’Connor, Bushwalking, The Stevens, Darren Sylvester, and The Ancients.

Away from The Residence, The Live Music Safari takes punters on a journey through Melbourne’s sonic safari, with 13 venues presenting free events and more than 40 local bands in a range of genres on the same night – Thrusday 21st November. Meaning you’ll have to choose between The John Curtin Hotel hosting The Bombay Royale, Mesa Cosa, and Kirkis, Lounge hosting The UV Race, The Clits, Bonniwells, and Heirophants, among 10 other showcases.

The Labels Series sees Melbourne-based record companies hosting a series of one-off concerts, and following on from Mistletone, Modular, I Oh You, The Operatives, and Polyester announcing their plans, Melbourne Music Week 2013 adds Aarght! Records’ ‘Swallowed By The Future’, hosted at Melbourne University’s underground car park on 17th November with Tyvek (US), Ooga Boogas, and Nun. Meanwhile, Lost & Lonesome celebrate 15 years with Bart & Friends, Captain Coach, Footy, and Great Earthquake at The Meat Market in North Melbourne on 23rd November.

Look. Stop. Bop will be offering free gigs around town designed for 9-5ers to squeeze in some live music around their working week. Broken up into three categories; the Morning Ritual sees Prudence Rees-Lee, Angel Eyes, Black Cab and more performing early morning sets in cafes, After Work treats come in dance gatherings at With Real Hot Bitches and No Lights No Lycra, and last but not least a series of midday Record Store Instore gigs, with Grand Salvo at Polyester, Davey Lane at Basement Discs, The Peep Tempel at Heartland Records, and more.

Musicians are also at the heart of the Films & Exhibitions events; Gotye will give a Q&A on his collaborators and the process behind his music videos at ACMI, while Cinemix sees Naysayer & Gilsun performing live for ACMI, and Breton (UK) performing the Australian Permiere of Surround Live. Playing Under The Influence sees Queen of rock Adalita and The Church frontman Steve Kilbey presenting their favourite films – Picnic At Hanging Rock and a double bill of La Jetée and The Seventh Seal respectively. Rockumentaries from Cosmic Psychos and Stone Roses play at Rooftop Cinema and more.

The Self-Made series is curated by local musician Sophia Brous and Triple R’s Woody MacDonald (Golden Plains, Meredith), presenting a series of roving shows, pop-up gigs, and street parties with performances from The Harpoons, Georgia Fields, Prudence Rees-Lee, t:dy t:wns, Hula Hope (NZ), Bobby & the Pins and more.
