Alex Lloyd Australian Tour 2013 Announced

One of Australia’s most acclaimed singer-songwriters, the multiple ARIA Award winning Alex Lloyd, has announced his first tour back in Australia since moving abroad in 2008 which will see Lloyd and his full band playing shows along the East Coast of Australia throughout November/December in support of his new album Urban Wilderness.

Featuring songs of family and romance with tracks written across the globe, the new album follows on from 2008’s Good In The Face Of A Stranger with 12 tracks of pure, pop-tinged song craft on which Lloyd is ably assisted by fellow artists Shane Nicholson and Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil). Special guests on the tour are Central Coast ‘dream-folk’ duo The Young Lions. Formed back in 2011, they played just two sold out Sydney shows before one half of the band set off to travel the world. Two years and many continents later the boys have made their way back home and will be releasing their debut album in 2014.

Ian Ball (Gomez) Australian Tour 2013 Announced

No stranger to Australian audiences, having toured many times as guitarist/singer for acclaimed British rock band Gomez, Ian Ball has announced an extensive national solo tour to celebrate the release of his second album, Unfold Yourself (out 15th November via Stop/Start, featuring 8 instrumental tracks exclusive to Australia). Delivering a heavy pop sound, his trademark boyish vocals, and charming melodies, Ball will hit Australia to play his new album’s material. “Both my mum (Phantom Of The Opera and Bon Jovi fanatic) and my son (Katy Perry and Donna Summer crazy) love the album, so presumably I must lie somewhere in the vast musical space between. So I set out to explore these musings, whilst trying to make the most euphoric music possible,” says Ball. “I’m thrilled to be bringing the album to Australia first. My most memorable musical evenings have occurred there, and I expect there are more to come.” Catch Ian Ball live in intimate settings nationally this November where he’ll be playing songs from his solo offerings plus favourite hits from his Gomez catalogue.
