In news to strike fear into the hearts of music lovers around the world, Russell Crowe’s wife Danielle Spencer has resumed her ‘music career’ after taking time off to make mini gladiators. She’s back with a new album produced by legendary producer Tony Visconti, best known for being behind the mixing desk for classic albums by David Bowie and T-Rex. So far what we’ve heard is eminently forgettable Delta-esque pop fluff squarely aimed at New Idea readers. However, it’s the lyrics we’re completely floored by. Allow us to share some with you:

‘Cause all this madness in the streets
Will take some sorcery to defeat
All the things we get so wrong
Sucking the magic dry til it’s gone

Seriously. It’s on her Myspaz. Makes Bec Hewitt’s wedding love poem for Lleyton read like a Shakespearean sonnet. How did such a legendary producer end up trying to polish something like this?  Well, it’s not like the glamour couple lack the financial power to pay for his production chops – times must be tough in producer land.
