Thou shalt not piss off rock stars. They maybe lazy stoned alcoholic womanisers, but they tend to be opinionated as well. That’s what Epic Records in America found out this week, after Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand threw a twitterfit over the use of a Franz Ferdinand tune on a McDonalds website. Alex hit his Twitter.com/alkapranos account to vent his spleen at the song being used on Latenightmcdonalds.com. A chastised record company/ad agency/harried PR flak quickly took the site down.
“This is an example of how a band falls out with their US label. Did they think we’d approve this shit?” Kapranos Tweeted.

Not wanting to leave readers in any doubt as to his position on sucking record company cock, he continued: “Dirty bastards. Stupid arrogant motherfucking pig-brained arseholes. I’d rather eat a cowpat on a bun than a bloody McDonalds.”

There, that’s telling them. Do You Wanna indeed.
