The Between The Bays Festival 2014 lineup has been announced with the festival returning next February with an all-Aussie bill.

Taking place on Saturday 22nd February, Between The Bays is not your typical Aussie music festival. Held on a 35-acre property in Moorooduc on the Mornington Peninsula (an hour’s drive from Melbourne), Between The Bays offers a relaxed atmosphere, reasonable ticket pricing, a community feel, and an appropriate setting for the whole family.

Now entering its ninth year, Between The Bays has firmly established itself as the Morning Peninsula’s best annual summer music festival, giving back to the community with all proceeds raised going to Penbank School’s partnership with the Wugularr School in the Northern Territory.

Playing the Between The Bays Festival 2014 lineup are Tex Perkins’ newest outfit, The Ape, featuring guitarist Raul Sanchez (Magic Dirt, River of Snakes, and Midnight Wolf), bass player Pat Bourke (Ladyboyz, Dallas Crane), and drummer Gus Agars (The Vandas, The Gin Club, The Dark Horses), arriving off the back of their self-titled debut album.

Diesel, the popular working name of singer-songwriter Mark Lizotte, is also on the Between The Bays 2014 lineup, drawing from his 25 years and 11 album-strong experience. The legendary Daryl Braithwaite also joins the bill, showing no signs of slowing at the tender age of 64, along with The Basics, the three piece Melbourne rock band that boasts one Wally ‘Gotye’ De Backer on the drums.

Rounding out the Between The Bays 2014 lineup is Aussie music scene veterans Boom Crash Opera, who are enjoying renewed success with the release of their greatest hits collection, The Best Things, featuring a couple of new songs form the group, led by enigmatic singer Dale Ryder with Peter Farnan, Maz Maslen & Ian Tilley.

There’s plenty besides the music to enjoy at Between The Bays 2014, especially for the food lover and the wine and beer connoisseur.

You can expect a broad range of culinary delights to help fuel you and keep you going throughout the day, from a simple sausage sizzle, ice-cream treats, to delights such as wood fired pizza’s, calamari, vegetarian options and wonderful coffee, including plenty of kid-friendly options as well. If you would rather bring your own food, feel free to pack your own gourmet picnic and bring it along (just remember no glass).

The festival will once again have a great variety of kid’s rides; children will be able to purchase a wristband for unlimited rides throughout the day.

Between the Bays takes place at Penbank, located at the end of Rickards Road in Moorooduc, Mornington Peninsula approximately 1 hour south of Melbourne. There are 35 beautiful acres to spread out in and enjoy the day, nestled between the bays (Westernport and Port Phillip Bay) and just five minutes from Mornington.

If you prefer not to drive, Between The Bays will again be running a shuttle bus to and from the festival site, with two-pick up/drop off points connecting with public transport running throughout the day and into the evening.
