The Let Them Eat Cake 2014 lineup has expanded, with the addition of nearly 40 more artists to the boutique New Year’s Day festival.

Described as “a secluded garden party bawdy with extravagance,” Let Them Eat Cake Festival returns to Werribee Mansion on January 1st 2014, where a number of already announced international artists will help ring in the new year.

Joining overseas sensations like production-DJ duo Bicep, Canada’s rising star Cyril Hahn, Japan-via-America DJ TOKiMONSTA, Julio Bashmore and more, is a contingent of local Aussie bands, artists, producers, and DJs.

Leading the local lineup for the sophomore outing of Let Them Eat Cake is Melbourne synth-pop duo Client Liaison. The self-described “purveyors of turn-of-the Nineties Business-class Australiana” have been building a cult following thanks to their spectacularly cultivated imagery – from the brilliant montage music video for lead single ‘End Of The Earth’ to the 80s panache and ‘feels’ of new single/video ‘Feelings’; though a winning performance at this year’s Golden Plains – complete with fax machine and Diner’s Club placard – didn’t hurt.

Joining Client Liaison in the new Let Them Eat Cake 2014 lineup additions is Melboure multi-tasker Mic Newman, dynamic resident DJ of Melbourne’s Revolver, Mike Callander, Flying Lotus’ touring buddy JPS, Silentjay – the solo project of 21-year-old Hiatus Kaiyote/Demian bandmate Alejandro Jay Abapo, and Melbourne nightclub all-star twosome Andy Hart and Myles Mac.

Also among the 38 new additions is genre-bender Digital Primate, NZ ex-pat Amin PaYnE, and sound mangler griff (that’s small ‘g’, cheers), bringing the total Let Them Eat Cake tally up to 55 artists.

Set in ten hectares of imperial parkland just a stone’s throw from the CBD, Let Them Eat Cake plans to entice punters into a halcyon escape far from the city and capping the year that was with a unique musical celebration. After the critical success of its 2013 debut, Let Them Eat Cake’s sophomore outing promises an ever immersive experience and a line up set to thrill.

Tickets for Let Them Eat Cake 2014 are on sale now with tickets going for $145 (including all fees) at letthemeatcakenyd.com.au

So frock up, turn on and tune out in a regal wonderland. Be prepared for a plush journey into the sublime which welcomes 2014 in lascivious luxury.
