The Jake Bugg Bluesfest 2014 Sideshows have been announced, and with the talented young singer-songwriter heading to Australia next April as part of the lineup for the annual Byron Bay festival, a series of headline dates have now been confirmed.

Bugg’s first tour of Autralia was earlier this year for Splendour In The Grass and sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, as his self-titled debut album hit the Top 5 on iTunes.

The 19-year-old Nottingham musician now heads back to Australia in April 2014 for his Bluesfest appearance, and headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Bugg returns to Australia with a fresh set of tunes, his sophomore album Shangri La – released worldwide on 15th November.

Following just a year on from his self-titled debut album last year, sending him into the record books as the youngest solo male to debut at the top of the UK charts with their first release, Shangri La was recorded with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and producer Rick Rubin at the famous desk jockey’s own Malibu studio, for which the album is named.

Shangri La sees Bugg enlist the likes of Jason Lader, Matt Sweeney, Pete Thomas of The Attractions and Chad Smith. The album builds on its predecessor with a ramped up version of Bugg’s signature timeless sound blended with lyrics that are totally of their moment.

Joining the Jake Bugg Bluesfest 2014 sideshows as support will be special guests The Creases and The Growl (acoustic).

DIY Brisbane songwriters Jarred and Joe, aka The Creases, created and recorded a set of tracks in the basement of their Brisbane share house and it didn’t take long for word to get out about their infectious tunes. With supports for Peace (UK), The Preatures and The Jungle Giants already under their belts and new single ‘I Won’t Wait’ just released, the story of The Creases is only just unfolding.

The Growl, featuring Cam Avery (of fellow WA musical successes Tame Impala and Pond), have just finished a successful national trek; the Douse The Lamps National Tour, named after the latest single to be lifted from the band’s debut album What Would Christ Do??. Fresh from supporting Kings Of Leon at their sole Sydney Enmore Theatre show that sold out in 40 seconds flat, The Growl have scored an SXSW 2014 invite and sure to warm audiences to Jake Bugg’s headline slot.
