This New Year’s Eve, Carlton Dry, Tone Deaf & Ding Dong Lounge are hosting the NYE bender to end all NYE benders. Things are gonna get loose at Dingers with seven-headed garage psychedelic collective King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard headlining the show, with support from The Murlocs, Bad//Dreems, and The Love Junkies. Later, the Midnight Run & Tone Deaf DJ crew will be spinning all your fave party jams to keep you shakin’ your booty until dawn. Here’s the lowdown:

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have gained a reputation as one of the country’s most exciting live acts, opening Meredith Music Festival and winning a plum slot at Big Day Out. Their distinctive garage punk sound explodes with dreamy, dense, sitar and Theremin-laced psychedelia. Their debut album 12 Bar Bruise recently took home the award for the Best Hard Rock, Heavy or Punk Album category at the Independent Music Awards and the lads have wasted no time, following up with two further albums within twelve months.

The Murlocs are five dudes with roots firmly placed in their own blown-out, distorted brand of soulful RnB. Formed in early 2011 by harp player Ambrose Kenny-Smith, the Murlocs have played alongside Thee Oh Sees, Graveyard Train and Dave Graney, as well as at Meredith, Dig It Up and Harvest festivals. With their up-tempo snare cracks and a noisy doom guitar accompanying Ambrose’s vocal screech, the Murlocs live experience has been described as a mesmerising demented dance party.

Since they first began jamming in the summer of 2012, Adelaide garage lads Bad//Dreems have toured nationally with Children Collide, played BIGSOUND and came in at number 13 on Triple J Unearthed charts for the most played tracks in 2013. Drawing influences from the Australian underground of the late 70s and 80s, with cues from US indie outsiders like The Replacements and Wipers, it’s no secret as to why these boys have been absolutely killing it of late.

Hailing from the foothills of Perth, The Love Junkies are an unrelenting onslaught of fuzzy guitar fury, with infectious melodies that will linger in your mind. The band scored slots at 2013’s Southbound, Big Day Out and Groove In The Moo festivals, as well as a national support with British India. They recently released their debut album ‘Maybelene’ in June to rave reviews, and come off the back of a national tour around Australia.

What an awesome Aussie lineup to welcome in the New Year! Once the bands have done their thang, the party kicks on with the Midnight Run & Tone Deaf DJ crew – including some very special NYE guests –hitting the decks until the trams are running. There’ll also be some drink specials that won’t hurt the hip pocket to help welcome in 2014. Best news is that tickets are only $25+bf so grab yours now from here.
