The Memphis coroner has released the autopsy report for Jay Reatard , who died on the 13th of January, revealing that he died from ‘cocaine toxicity and that alcohol was a contributing factor in his death’, The report by Shelby County Medical Examiner Dr. Karen E. Chancellor was released yesterday, 3rd February.
Retard was found dead in his Memphis home by his flatmate. The garage rocker had risen to prominence on a prolific release rate of 7” singles and his star had begun to rise beyond the punk underground with the release of album Watch Me Fall last year.
