A Temples Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, with one of Britain’s biggest buzz-worthy acts hitting Australia for the first time ever this May.

The psych-rock outfit have been lauded by the British press and Noel Gallagher alike, while UK taste-makers NME and MOJO have heaped praise upon the Kettering four-piece, with the latter declaring: “Temples are the new standard-bearers of British progressive psych.”

Australian audiences will get their first chance to see the band – lead singer/guitarist James Edward Bagshaw, bassist Tom Warmsley, drummer Sam Toms and keyboardist Adam Smith – performing live this May, with headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Having already supported Interpol, Suede, The Vaccines and Kasabian, the band hit Coachella this April before landing in Australia.

Following debut single ‘Shelter Song’ and a string of standalone releases getting high rotation, Temples are set to release their debut album Sun Structures – featuring lead single ‘Mesmerise’ – in Australia this month before their visit later this year

Joining Temples for their headline shows will be Austrlia’s own psych-leaning favourites, Deep Sea Arcade. The Sydney nu-beat combo have been winning audiences in the UK and are the perfect accompaniment to introduce Temples to their native homeland as they open for the band on all three dates of their debut Australian Tour.

Don’t miss your opportunity to catch Temples live in such intimate settings, as chances are, the next time they return Down Under it will be to play much bigger venues and stages.
