The Jezabels Australian Tour 2014 has been announced.

Fresh from closing the main stage at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival dates across the country and off the back of the release of their second LP The Brink, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts, The Jezabels are excited to announce their first headline dates for 2014, with two special performances at the iconic Sydney Opera House, along with their performances with Groovin The Moo 2014.

In 2012, The Jezabels played over 200 shows across the globe, refining their epic live show that has drawn them critical acclaim and won them a growing fan base both here and overseas.

In 2013 they settled into life within a London studio with UK Producer Dan Grech-Marguerat (Radiohead, Scissor Sisters, The Kooks and Lana Del Rey) to write and record The Brink, which follows the release of their AMP Award winning debut Prisoner (2011). They closed out the year opening for Depeche Mode and then The Pixies through Ireland and the UK.

Their big return to Australia, as part of the Laneway Festival 2014 lineup, saw them airing new material and live favourites to audiences across the country, with our Tone Deaf reviewer at the Brisbane Laneway remarking: “Vocalist Hayley Mary was infallible and off the chart in terms of range and power… Songs from the new album The Brink (released that day) were layered with their typical flair as keyboardist Heather Shannon made up for their conspicuous lack of a bass player. But as Mary stalked the stage with such a magnificent presence, the rest of the band seemed to stand in her shadow.”

Joining The Jezabels for these dates is Sydney buzz collective and favourites of the blogosphere Gang Of Youths, who will be opening all shows (aside from the Opera House dates).

Bound for SXSW later this year and handpicked by Triple J in their Next Crop 2014 list for their self-described “emotional-ass concept rock,” Gang Of Youths have been causing a stir lately thanks to their power pop debut single ‘Evangelists’ and recent support slots for the likes of Vampire Weekend and Frightened Rabbit.

Don’t miss The Jezabels’ headline tour as it travels around the country this April and May.
