Cloud Control are embarking on a headline Australian tour through March and April. But this isn’t your traditional run of shows.
The band are going unplugged for their latest itinerary, playing nearly 40 free shows around the country in a partnership with Corona Extra to support the release of Dream Cave Unplugged – a stripped-back version of Cloud Control’s AMP-nominated second album, Dream Cave.
The acoustic shows – starting Thursday 20th March in Western Australia through to Sunday 20th April in Queensland – are also completely free, giving fans the chance to catch Cloud Control performing their catalogue – including tracks from 2010 debut Bliss Release – in a unique live setting.
The news comes off the back of Cloud Control wrapping their dates with the Laneway Festival and landing two Dream Cave cuts in the Triple J Hottest 100 – ‘Scar’ ranking at #52 and ‘Dojo Rising’ at #82 – while ‘Promises’ narrowly missed out in the annual countdown, landing at #112.
The Blue Mountains four-piece also took out the Record Of The Year gong at FBi’s SMAC Awards last month, shortly after cracking the community radio station’s Top Played Artists & Songs lists for 2013.
The band are also one of a number of Aussie artists locked in for the Sasquatch! 2014 lineup, taking part in the first weekend of the high-profile American music festival this May alongside the likes of Cut Copy and Melbourne indie twosome Big Scary.
