Washington Australian Tour 2014 dates have been announced with the ARIA-winning artist playing two intimate sideshows for East Coast fans.

Presented by Frontier Touring, Megan Washington will play two headline dates in Brisbane and Melbourne this April in support of her new single ‘Who Are You’.

Although it’s been two years since we’ve received a new studio recording from this artist, ‘Who Are You’, recorded in London’s RAK Studios and Peter Gabriel’s New World, is definitely well worth the wait.

The track is the result of a creative 2013, which saw Megan Washington arrive in London, embrace a musical revolution and reconnect with Australian record producer Samuel Dixon (Sia, Adele) who reignited the songwriting flame and shaped the creative direction of her new material. The new track features Stella Mozgawa from Warpaint on percussion and is expected to be the first taste of a new as yet untitled album.

It’s the first new material from Washington since her 2011 Insomnia EP and her multi-platinum, ARIA-scooping 2010 debut I Believe You Liar.

Since then the songwriter has appeared on The Bamboos 2012 album Medicine Man (contributing vocals to a cover of James Blake’s ‘The Wilhelm Scream’) and worked on Lanu, the side-project of Bamboos ringleader Lance Ferguson, been embroiled in a legal battle with Qantas, and made her cinematic debut in the starring role of The Boy Castaways, a fantasy musical directed by Michael Kantor.

Late last year, Megan Washington played similarly intimate settings for set of ‘comeback shows’. After nearly two years’ absence, they were considered “a very welcome return from one of our most talented – and likeable – female pop vocalists,” according to our Tone Deaf reviewer at a Toff In Town show.

Given the history of her shows selling out in record time, don’t miss this very rare opportunity to see Megan Washington perform in such intimate venues.
