A Brant Bjork Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, with the Low Desert Punk heading back Down Under with an amazing new band.

Featuring his most ideal unit yet, Brant Bjork is hitting Australia this May with an outfit featuring Dave Dinsmore on bass (Che, Bl’ast), Bubba Dupree on guitar (Void, Hater) and Tont Tornay on drums (Fatso Jetson, Chuck Dukowski).

Together with the band, Brant Bjokr will deliver a near-lethal dose of classic roc and heavy punk to headline shows in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Adelaide and Melbourne and will join US icons Meat Puppets to co-headline ‘Astor Rocks’ in Perth on Western Australia Day, Monday 2nd June 2014.

A stoner rock icon, Bjork has been a key part of California’s rock scene from the very beginnings of the movement that birthed legendary bands like Kyuss, Vista Chino, Fu Machu, The Desert Sessions, and even Queens Of the Stone Age and Monod Generator.

In 2010, Bjork’s Kyuss brother-in-arms, singer John Garcia, asked him if he was interested in putting the band back together for a European tour.

Bjork jumped at the chance to bring the music to the new generation of Kyuss fans and launched the appropriately re-titled, Kyuss Lives. who did indeed tour Europe and was such a sold out success that the demand snowballed to a Earth-sized scale.

Returning from a magical South American tour and landing a undeniable record deal, the party was interrupted by a couple past band members who didn’t make the event and weren’t too keen on the results, resulting in a messy lawsuit over the Kyuss name.

The result was the conception of Vista Chino (a street name in the desert from where Kyuss originated) built and assembled an all analogue sound studio out in the middle of the desert of Joshua Tree and produced the Vista Chino debut, tastefully titled, Peace.

Already being considered a classic rock release, the celebration of the sweet victory wasn’t long before Brant Bjork decided to return to his most beloved passion, his solo music.

Now, following Vista Chino’s recent visit for the Big Day Out 2014 tour, Bjork is delivering his solo material with a dream stoner rock lineup. Don’t miss your chance at an audience with the legend this May.
