The Delta Riggs Australian Tour 2014 has been announced.
The inventive Melbourne rock troupe are hitting the road in anticipation of releasing their forthcoming second studio album, the curiously titled Dipz Zebazios, to be issued through The Delta Riggs’ own Rah Rah Radio label.
Last week, The Delta Riggs released the first taste of their sophomore effort, in ‘Supersonic Casualties‘, a headtrip inspired as much by the eclectic world of hip-hop as it is the band’s own rock-fulled sensibilities.
‘Supersonic Casualties’ tips its hat to Jurassic 5 and Outkast as much as it does the out-there sounds of 60s psychedelia and beat combo classics (especially in its lyrics of “marmalade shoes” and “peppermint rain”).
It demonstrates the recent 123 Agency-signed band’s fresh approach to their songwriting and sonic approach. To celebrate Dipz Zebazios’ imminent arrival to ears worldwide, the band are hitting the road.
Ignoring pleas for mercy from their tour van, The Delta Riggs will take their new sounds on the road up and down the East Coast of Australia through two massive long weekends in April. Joining the party are Sydney’s hook-laden Jenny Broke The Window, Brisbane rockers Jakarta Criers and Melbourne dream-weavers, White Caves.
In the meantime, The Delta Riggs look set to find a new legion of fans at their shows, having secured a massive sync opportunity for the AFL Season 2014 Promo Campaign, ‘Everything’s Possible’ (watch here). Soundtracked by the tune ‘Scratch Flower’, taken from their 2013 AMP award nominated album HEX.LOVER.KILLER, the promo features some of the league’s biggest stars and will run throughout the season.
