From the Department of Inappropriate Jobs comes the news that Lil’ Wayne – currently banged up for a year on gun possession charges – has been assigned the job of keeping an eye out for prisoners on suicide watch. The eccentric rapper, who must know a thing or two about ensuring prisoners don’t check out hanging by their shoelaces by now, is even getting paid for the job in Rikers Island Prison in New York.
Supposedly Lil’ Wayne enjoys the job in the prison Sid Vicious was held in after murdering his girlfriend Nancy Spungeon. Antonia ‘Toya’ Jackson, the mother of one of his children, told US Weekly: ‘He likes the job even though they don’t pay him much. They got him on suicide watch for other prisoners. He watches the crazy prisoners and makes sure they don’t kill themselves.’
