Karnivool Groovin The Moo 2014 Sideshows have been announced.

The ARIA-winning Perth prog-rock titans are already headed to regional centres as part of the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup (in fact, frontman Ian Kenny leaked them as the first band on the festival bill) and now the band are expanding their touring map to cities with a series of additional headline sideshows.

With a series of dates weaving in and out of their coMOOmitments, Karnivool will now perform at Sydney’s The Hi-Fi, make a grand return to Melbourne’s Palace Theatre, backed by a show in Chelsea Heights and a closing date in their native Western Australia at Fremantle’s Metropolis.

The sophisticated heavy rock five-piece have already mapped a large part of the country earlier this year as part of the Polymorphism Tour, a huge co-headline jaunt of the country with fellow prog favourites Dead Letter Circus and sleepmakeswaves. Now they’re ready for another victory lap of the country after their chart-topping third album, Asymmetrytook out the ARIA for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal release.

Once the dust settles on the Groovin The Moo sideshows, Karnivool will once again get their tour pedometer up by heading to Europe for a run of summer festival appearances and headline shows, including Rock am Ring and Rock im Park (Germany), Sonisphere (UK), Volt Festival (Hungary), Provinssirock (Finland) and Novarock (Austria).

Joining in for the Karnivool Groovin The Moo 2014 Sideshows as support will be ferocious New South Wales outfit, Born Lion. Handpicked among Triple J’s 2014 Next Crop, the quartet have already torn up the Rock The Bay, set for Rock N Load later this year, and continue to sharpen their teeth with a series of muscular live shows.

In related news, the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup recently expanded with the addition of six Triple J Unearthed winners and Melbourne hip hop star Allday, replacing US rapper Action Bronson, who pulled out of the festival “due to unforeseen circumstances regarding recording commitments.”

Other Groovin The Moo 2014 sideshows include headline gigs from UK dance duo DisclosureNZ synth-rockers The Naked And FamousUK grime scamp Dizzee Rascal, New York indie duo Cults, Melbourne singer-songwriter Vance Joy, rocking quartet Kingswood, and mighty electro duo The Presets.
