The bored secretary’s favourite band of middle of the road ballad writers, Keane, are aghast to find out that they’ve been used by Britain’s Conservative Party to launch their election manifesto. David Cameron, the Smiths loving leader of the Tories used the song to soundtrack the launch event in front of 500 party supporters.

Drummer Richard Hughes immediately took to Twitter to denounce them: “Told the Tories played Keane at their manifesto launch. Am horrified. To be clear – we were not asked. I will not vote for them.” Let’s hope their fans think so too.
