We all know face painting is a great addition to stage theatrics, hell who would KISS be without their patented black and white make-up? But what about painting your face with the cover art of your favourite record?

For 2014’s instalment of Record Store Day, Natalie Sharp, a face paint artist whose work is utterly mind-blowing, decided to paint record art…on her own face and upload the masterpieces on her official Tumblr. In speaking with The Quietus, Sharp stated: “I stupidly thought I could knock these out in a day. Each face took between 3 – 6 hours to paint”, confirming “I don’t use any stencils it’s all freehand.”

The artist assured “these are not my top eight albums, I don’t believe in that crap, but they are eight very inspiring and spectacular albums that I keep returning to.”

As you view Sharp’s recreations, bear in mind the patience and skill involved in painting such intricate detail on oneself. The results are as creepy as they are incredible.
