When it comes to international attention, it’s been a good start to 2014 for Courtney Barnett.

The 26-year-old Melbourne songsmith and her band, the Courtney Barnetts, have already been booked for a string of major overseas music festivals and her double EP, A Sea Of Split Peas, had a US release this month via Mom + Pop.

Capitalising on that momentum over the weekend, Barnett was exposed to a viewing audience of millions as a guest performer on US late night TV show, The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, performing her already internationally renowned (and locally loved) single ‘Avant Gardener’.

Following her network debut, the talented Aussie music ambassador then continued her promo duties with a stop into VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live show, where she gave a solo rendition of ‘Avant Gardener‘ as well as briefly discussing her performance at Coachella 2014 with co-host Nick Lachey (as in Nick ‘ex-Mr. Jessica Simpson and former 98 Degrees boy band member’ Lachey. Bizarre.)

Following Coachella, Courtney Barnett is continuing her international touring through a long list of festivals, including America’s LollapaloozaFirefly, and Outside Lands, Canada’s Osheaga and NXNE industry conference, plus Barcleona’s Primavera Sound. She’s also set for a triumphant homecoming performance as part of the recently announced Splendour In The Grass 2014 lineup and recently completed her full-length debut album, funded by a $15,000 Arts Council funding grant.
