Holy Holy Australian Tour 2014 Announced

Having released their debut EP, The Pacific – featured among our Top 8 Records You Might’ve Missed From March, Holy Holy have named dates for a series of headline shows after having spent the last month on the raod with Ball Park Music.

The musical project of Brisbanite Timothy Carroll and Melburnian Oscar Dawson, Holy Holy’s music and live show have already received glowing reviews, from singles ‘Impossible Like You‘ and ‘House Of Cards‘ which positively sing in the live setting with their duelling guitar lines, rich harmonies, and inventive songcraft that nods to classics like Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young. The band head out on the road with Ryan Strathie (Hungry Kids of Hungary) on drums and Graham Ritchie (Emma Louise, Airling), and these shows promise to be something special.

Tickets are on sale now: www.holyholymusic.com/live/

Gang Of Youths Announce Australian Tour 2014 Dates, New Single

The Sydney five-piece who craft “emotional-ass concept rock” have caused a stir overseas after playing SXSW 2014, and touring LA and NYC after relocating to America at the end of 2013, they have since returned to home soil. Gang Of Youths have just played  the Maitland Groovin The Moo over the weekend and set to open for fellow GTM act The Jezabels on their Australian shows in May. The dates coincide with new single ‘Poison Drum‘, mixed by Peter Katis (The National, Jónsi, Frightened Rabbit) and the follow-up to breakout single ‘Evangelists‘. The band are already shaped to be ‘ones to watch’ by FBi’s SMAC awards, Triple J’s Next Crop, and Spotify, and wrapping up their debut album at the NY studios of producer Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Real Estates, Swans). There’s no better time to check out this buzzing band.

SHE REX And Lepers & Crooks Joint Australian Tour 2014 Announced

Two of Sydney’s finest emerging bands – the sharp-edged rap ‘n’ rock of SHE REX and anthemic indie five-piece Lepers & Crooks – are joining forces this May to scour the East Coast on a co-headline tour. SHE REX have been drawing worthy attention for their self-titled EP, featuring singles ‘P.O.W.E.R.’ and ‘The Heist‘, including Tone Deaf: “imagine if Stonefield (who they’ve also toured with) raised on a healthy sonic diet of Rage Against The Machine, M.I.A, and Nick Cave instead of solely 70s rock.” Lepers & Crooks mix vocal harmonies, contemporary metal riffs, funk rhythms, and commanding drums into a genre-blurring mix, as heard on debut single ‘Her Kiss‘, and a live tour de force. Catch two awesome new bands for the price of one this month.
