Despite a major headache this morning when tickets went on sale for Splendour In The Grass, a lucky few have managed to navigate their way through the chaos and purchase tickets to what has become one of the most important and most loved events on the music calendar.

Outkast, Lily Allen, Interpol, and more who are amongst the huge lineup of acts set to journey to Byron Bay this July will now be playing to sold out crowds, with organisers officially announcing that all tickets have been exhausted.

“The organisers of Splendour In The Grass would like to advise that all tickets for the 2014 event, taking place Friday 25 to Sunday 27 July at North Byron Parklands has sold out,” an official statement read this afternoon.

“Splendour would like to thank everyone for their patience this morning. Anyone that is concerned they have been charged the incorrect amounts or experienced technical difficulties during the purchase process should contact moshtix at www.ticketsupport.moshtix.com.au”

“We’ll be announcing the Official Splendour Sideshows on Monday morning, stay tuned!”

The concern over incorrect charges to ticket holder’s credit cards follows hours of frustration and concern after it appeared that Moshtix, the official ticket outlet for Splendour In The Grass, had been hacked during the sale.

Suspect credit card charges which in some cases amounted to thousands of extra dollars, had patrons flooding the festival and Moshtix’s social media pages with outrage, and panic. Concern soon stepped in after screenshots emerged of a suspect link added to the Moshtix ticket sales page offering to sell ticket holder eta on notorious hacker website Silk Road.

Moshtix have now released a statement that “technical issues” were to blame, and that ticket holders financial information had not been compromised.

Moshtix are yet to officially address screenshots that appear to show that their website was compromised this morning.

There remains a legion of angry punters who had attempted to buy tickets after waiting in the digital queue for up to 30 minutes, but backed out after encountering the erroneous ticket fees and were unable to secure tickets with the correct price.

A petition has been launched urging Splendour In The Grass to cancel all tickets and redo the sale. At the time of writing only 71 people had signed.
