The Love Junkies Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, along with the band’s debut international gigs.

Having just wrapped a national tour with Calling All Cars, blowing away audiences around Australia, The Love Junkies have decided to hit the road once more this June in support of their latest release, the Flight Test EP.

Before the award-winning rock three-piece kicks off another jaunt of the country however, they’ll be playing their first overseas show, heading to Singapore to play the Music Matters conference at the end of May.

The news follows a bumper year for the three WA-base musicians, who’ve come a long way since first forming The Love Junkies together in school in 2009. Since the release of their 2013 debut Maybelene, they’ve earned radio play, been handpicked by Triple J as one of the Top 20 Aussie artists to watch for 2014, and toured relentlessly.

Their live CV includes shows with Grinspoon, Kingswood, Birds Of Tokyo, Jeff THe Brotherhood, Kingswood, British India, Band Of Skulls, Die! Die! Die!,and more, as well as festival appearances at Big Day Out, Groovin’ The Moo, and Southbound. They’ve also toured Australia four times including at the BIGSOUND music conference in Brisbane in September where the band were signed to New World Artists after 2 blistering live showcases.

After winning three WAM Awards last year, The Love Junkies released Flight Test this past April – self-produced, recorded, and mixed by the band in singer Mitch McDonald’s old bedroom at his parent’s house.

The EP contains the rollicking “Chemical Motivation”, along with “Storm Troopers”, penned by bass player Robbie Rumble and the stark honesty of drummer Lewis Walsh’s “Gloria to My Dysphoria”, making for one “highly variable listening experience,” according to our Tone Deaf reviewer.

The band have also recently inked a deal with German based label Siiick Records for the European issue of Maybelene for this May.

All which makes The Love Junkies one of Australia’s fastest rising and hardest working bands; a big part of that ethic is their visceral live show – don’t miss your chance to experience The Love Junkies as they hit a venue near you this June.
