A Busby Marou Australian Tour 2014 has been announced to celebrate the release of the duo’s new single ‘My Second Mistake’.
Travelling the East Coast from July to August, with some very special guests, Busby Marou will be bringing their celebrated folk and roots rock to all corners of the country once more.
‘My Second Mistake’ turns a shuffling beat and soulful keys into a tale of fidelity, Catholic guilt, and growing up. Directed by Renny Wijeyamohan, the accompanying video features a master protagonist, a puppet called Woody (watch the video below).
Firmly established as one of Australia’s hardest working and most loved live bands, the duo spent summer touring the coastal road, followed by festival performances at Bluesfest, Woodford and Queenscliff.
Prior to their national tour, Busby Marou will tour Australia and New Zealand as the main support for James Blunt throughout May and June.
As always, Busby Marou put their fans first when they invite supports acts to tour. Darren Middleton is the main support and will be playing songs from his extensive catalogue including Powderfinger, Drag, and his solo work. Opening the proceedings is the guitar-slinging banjo-wielding freak Karl S Williams.
Busby Marou’s second album Farewell Fitzroy debuted at #5 on the ARIA album chart. The album features the anthemic and rich first single; Get You Out Of Here which showcases the acclaimed duo’s harmonies. The elegant, road worthy second single Luck was co-written with Aussie songwriting royalty, Don Walker (Cold Chisel, Tex, Don and Charlie).
