Lily Allen Splendour In The Grass 2014 sideshows have been announced.

Already headed to Australia as part of the 100-strong lineup of the three-day music festival this July, Frontier Touring have confirmed that the sharp-witted Lily Allen will be performing headline sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Five years on from hitting Australian shores for the Big Day Out 2009 off the back of sophomore album It’s Not Me, It’s You, the cheeky pop star returns Down Under with her new album Sheezus in tow to play her biggest Australian headline shows to date at Melbourne’s Festival Hall and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.

Though she’s been absent from the music scene for a number of years, the 24-year-old British singer made quite the splash with her comeback. First sparking controversy with her lead single and video for ‘Hard Out Here’, Allen has gone on to discuss how little money she really makes with the media while telling fans about rejecting a role on Game Of Thrones (due to a little onscreen incest with her brother) and revealing what Kanye West thinks of her baiting album title in an awesome reddit AMA.

Teaming up with Greg Kurstin (P!nk, Ellie Goulding), DJ Dahi and Shellback, Sheezus marks a triumphant return to music with Allen beaming with confidence in her craft and the joys of motherhood and family life. The first single from her third studio album ‘Hard Out Here’ (watch it here) reaffirms to fans that the charismatic and outspoken Allen is back and is taking no prisoners.

Allen first exploded onto the scene eight years ago with her single ‘Smile’ which held its spot at the top of the UK singles charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to end the year as the UK’s 11th most successful song. This was just a taste of things to come from Allen who, at the ripe age of 21, released her Grammy-nominated debut album Alright, Still in 2006.

Her second major release It’s Not Me, It’s You came out three years later and created even bigger waves than its predecessor, debuting at number one on the UK, Canadian and Australian album charts. Leading single ‘The Fear’ held the number one position on the UK Singles Charts for four consecutive weeks and the album featured four times in triple j’s Hottest 100 – twice in 2008 for singles ‘The Fear’ and ‘F—k You’ and again in 2009 for ‘22’ and ‘Not Fair’.

After spending four years honing ideas and gaining new perspectives, Allen is back with a vengeance and ready to take on the music industry once again in the same provocative and daring manner her fans have become accustomed to.
