Since its creation in 2006, the UK’s Great Escape Festival has fast become one of the leading international events for showcasing new and emerging artists. Taking place in Brighton, over 3 days (8th-10th May) The Great Escape features over 350 bands playing in 30 venues.

This year the Aussie representation was particularly strong, some of the local names on the Great Escape line up included Courtney Barnett, Dune Rats, Hermitude, Jeremy Neale, Kate Miller Heidke, Money For Rope and Seekae.

Because The Great Escape festival features music from a vast array of genres, we asked two very different local acts to give us a photo diary of their experiences at The Great Escape. First was the extremely talented composer Luke Howard who recently released Night, Cloud, the remix LP of his highly acclaimed 2013 record Sun, Cloud

The second was everyone’s favourite rock n’ roll trio Calling All Cars who have this year released their third album and relocated to the UK to fulfill their international rock star dreams.
