Released on the legendary Sub Pop label this week, Avi Buffalo are a band of youngsters hailing from Long Beach California and are fronted by 19 year old Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg. Like most 19 year olds, Avigdor is obsessed with sex and in particular the opposite sex. He’s also got a potty mouth, penning songs on the band’s debut such as Five Little Sluts and Summer Cum.
Before you file the band away with other smutty groups appealing to teenage boys such as Slipknot and the Bloodhound Gang, you should know Avi Buffalo have an uncanny knack of writing almost perfect pop songs, showing a maturity beyond their years. This will be a smash over the Northern Hemisphere this summer and have girls swooning for young Avigdor, but in the meantime check out the video for What’s In It For?
