UK ‘indie station’ Xfm, which is mostly play listed but plays a lot more indie stuff than Triple J half the time, has revealed the results of a listener poll as to the Top 100 British songs of all time which were played over the Bank Holiday long weekend in the UK.

Are there any surprises in it? ‘Cor blimey, guvnor! Are you ‘aving a larf? Of course there aren’t. It’s all predicable indie fodder, with Oasis’ Live Forever topping the poll. In fact Oasis take out the top three tunes of the poll, with Don’t Look Back In Anger and Wonderwall taking out the second and third spots respectively. Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart and The Stone Roses’ I Am The Resurrection round out the top five. Check out the full list here: http://bestbritishsongs.xfm.co.uk
