Sleepmakeswaves Australian Tour 2014

Sleepmakeswaves, Sydney’s thrilling purveyors of progressively minded ambient music and melodic post-rock, have confirmed the release of their crowdfunded second full-length album Love Of Cartography (out 4th July via Bird’s Robe Records/MGM). To mark the unveiling of the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut LP, And So We Destroyed Everything, the band have announced dates for an album launch tour.

Fresh from a 20-date tour of the UK and Europe, sleepmakeswaves will be joined by fellow prog heavyweights Breaking Orbit and indie-alt rock band Teal, playing their biggest shows to date. It will also offer fans the first chance to hear ‘Something Like Avalanches‘, the first track lifted from Love Of Cartography, which was recorded in Byron Bay’s Studio 301 under the helm of producer Nick DiDia (Karnivool, Pearl Jam, Powderfinger) following raising $30,000 from fans through a Pozible campaign.

Major Leagues & Bloods Co-Headline Australian Tour 2014


One of Sydney’s finest new breed of punk and Queensland’s dream-pop majors are joining forces and packing their bags for a co-headline tour along the East Coast, kicking off this June. The Sunshine State’s Major Leagues will be playing highlights from their new Weird State EP as well as road-testing material from their forthcoming second full-length effort, while NSW’s Bloods (pictured) will be celebrating the release of their new single ‘Want It’. Recorded and produced with good mate Owen Penglis (of Straight Arrows/Palms/Royal Headache fame), it’s also the lead cut of Bloods’ debut album, out August through their own Tiny Galaxy label. These three shows will be ‘I was there’ moments to remember.

The Babe Rainbow Announce New Single, Video, Accompanying Tour Dates


The newest artist on King Gizzard’s Flightless Records label, Queensland’s psychedelic trio The Babe Rainbow have released a music video for new single ‘Secret Enchanted Broccoli Forest‘, a head-tripping journey into the band’s unique sonic world. “The idea for this new song came straight out of our favourite recipe book,” says the band’s Angus Dowling by way of explanation for the new track. To celebrate its release, The Babe Rainbow have announced a string of East Cost gigs for the tail-end of June.

The Sinking Teeth Australian Tour 2014


Melbourne post-punk outfit The Sinking Teeth have a brilliantly named new tour and single out named ‘You Can’t Build A Bike Out Of Muffins’, the first bite of their second EP Salt & Stitches, due to be launched on the final date of their new 10 date national tour. In-between spending the last six months working away at the follow-up to their 2013 debut EP, White Water, The Sinking Teeth have been honing their live show playing alongside some of the country’s best rock acts, such as Violent Soho, Bodyjar, The Love Junkies, Calling All Cars, Luca Brasi, Bad//Dreems and – most recently – Kingswood.

Jesse Davidson Australian Tour For Debut EP


With a voice that belies his 18 years, drawing comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Adelaide singer-songwriter Jesse Davidson has announced his first national headline tour, supporting the release of his debut EP Oceans. Having made the most of his free time since finishing school last year by supporting the likes of Mac DeMarco and Ball Park Music on their respective national tours, and hitting the raod with Eves for a recent co-headline run, Davidson – a 2012 Triple J Unearthed finalist – has been building a solid fanbase with his dreamy sounds and soaring voice. Oceans, recorded both in Davidson’s bedroom and at various Brisbane studios with the aid of members of The Preatures, is set to bring the 18-year-old even more loyal fans.

Halfway Australian Single Launch Tour


Brisbane rock band Halfway are launching ‘Dulcify’, the new single from their critically acclaimed fourth album Any Old Love, with a new East Coast tour starting this June. The eight-strong band’s song takes its name from the champion racehorse which was euthanised after being injured in the 1979 Melbourne Cup, touching on “life’s highs, lows, and in-betweens.” Produced by The Go-Betweens’ Robert Forster, Any Old Love also features fellow new Halfway member and fellow Go-Between John Willsteed. Don’t miss one of Brisbane’s best kept musical secrets in the live setting.
