Bummed you missed out on tickets to the sold out Splendour In The Grass 2014? Well, the organisers of Australia’s biggest winter music festival are ready to turn your frown upside down.

An extra batch of Splendour In The Grass tickets are going on sale next week, offering fans another 2,500 chances to catch this year’s 100 artist strong lineup.

The additional tickets comes after Splendour organisers’ application to increase the capacity of their 660 acre Yelgun site in North Byron Parklands getting the tick of approval from the Department of Planning and Environment.

The extra 2,500 tickets will be a mixture of three day, single day, and camping tickets and will go on sale 9am AEST next Thursday 12th June through Moshtix.

When Splendour tickets originally went on sale in May, passes were snapped up in record time, but not before a major upset to Moshtix’s online systems due to the interference of an online hacker attempting “to create confusion and concern and damage the Moshtix brand.

Though originally blaming “technical issues” for patrons being offered fake 50% discounts and being charged extra credit car surcharges of thousands of dollars, Moshtix CEO Harley Evans later confirmed it was the work of an individual working “in a deliberate and unauthorised fashion.”

If you still miss out on tickets following next Thursday’s extra allocation, there’s always the ticket Re-Sale facility taking place via Moshtix from 9am AEST Monday 16th June, giving punters the opportunity “offload your ticket to someone who missed out,” note Splendour organisers, once again encouraging fans “do not purchase tickets from online auction sites.”

Splendour In The Grass 2014 features exclusive performances from headliners Outkast, Two Door Cinema Club, Interpol, Darkside, Chvrches,
Danny Brown, Buraka Som Sistema, and Parquet Courts. Other internationals on the massive three-day bill are Lily Allen, Foster The People, London Grammar, Kelis, Ásgeir, and Childish Gambino.

Along with Tone Deaf’s own picks for the 17 must-see Splendour acts, the lineup recently got an additional boost thanks to the announcement that the Red Bull Music Academy Stage would be returning this year.
