Shock Records Promotions & Publicity Manager

If you’re a good communicator and music lover, Shock wants you to strut your stuff for them and theirs. One of Australia’s biggest indie music distributors, Shock has been operating for over 25 years and currently services over 20 local and international labels, including its two imprints HalfCut and Permanent. In short, they’re a big deal in the local music scene, and they’re now looking for a savvy PR and marketing wiz to be in charge of their promotional strategies across radio, print, online – you name it. The successful applicant needs to be creative in pitching and promoting acts on the Shock roster, and will also deal directly with label and management as well as artists, through wrangling interviews and campaigns.

Universal Production Account Manager

As one of music’s ‘Big Three’ record labels, Universal is responsible for getting the biggest releases from even bigger artists to their respective audiences, from U2 and Springsteen right through to The Presets and Empire Of The Sun. Now, you can be directly responsible for making sure that huge assortment of CDs, DVDs, vinyl, and even digital, gets direct into the hands of fans. UMG is looking for someone to fill a vacant spot on the Operations team at the new Sydney HQ, becoming the Production Account Manager (Supply Chain), meaning you’ll ensure the timely delivery and administration in the supply chain. Organisation is the key here; as well as sourcing audio and artwork, the right person for the job needs to be an ace scheduler, liaising with manufacturing, import, operations, and distribution. After all, blockbuster albums don’t just happen on their own.

This one’s strictly for those with a Law degree and 2-4 years experience as a legal practitioner, but if you’ve got the necessary media or commercial IP experience, then you’ve got the skills to be working closely with Universal’s General Manager of Legal & Business Affairs, as well as the publishing and third party divisions in Australia and New Zealand.
