The first BIGSOUND Live 2014 lineup has landed, with over 80 bands confirmed to bring all the crowdsurfingtaste-makingartist-breaking action to the annual Brisbane-based music industry conference this September.

The 4AD-signed D.D Dumbo, Bad//Dreems, REMi, Client Liaison, Milwaukee Banks, Yeo, DMA’s, Lanks, Holy Holy, Airling, Thelma Plum, Fractures, Jesse Davidson, The Phoncurves, Blank Realm – name an emerging Aussie artist, and chances are they’re on the BIGSOUND bill.

Other bands billed to play the festival’s two nights of live music, taking place the 10th and 11th September in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, includes Kingswood, Seekae, Deep Sea Arcade, Sampology, Ash Grunwald, The Murlocs, Bonjah, Baptism Of Uzi, Ernest Ellis, Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders, Gold Fields, Steve Smyth, Teeth & Tongue, Panama, Tkay Maidza – the list goes on. And there promises to be even more bands added to the BIGSOUND 2014 bill in future lineup announcements.

“The diversity and talent in BIGSOUND’s line-up gets richer and deeper each year,” says programmer Nick O’Byrne (who recently stepped down as AIR’s General Manager). “With more 80 artists still to be announced there’s no doubt that those two nights in September will be the single best festival of new Australian music we’ve ever had.”

Helping to accommodate the huge live bill is the expansion of BIGSOUND to include more venues, such as The Underdog, Crowbar, The Elephant, The New Globe, and new outdoor venues located at Brightside and Magic City.

They’ll be joining the welcome return of the Triple J Unearthed stage as well as a new electronic music stage presented by inthemix, along with the usual Brisbane favourites like Alhambra Lounge, Black Bear Lodge, Ric’s Bar, The Zoo, The Tempo, and more.

While BIGSOUND event laminates will get priority access to all venues over the two nights, you don’t have to be an industry domo or in a band to attend the huge array of gigs and showcases on offer.

BIGSOUND LIve 2014 passes go on sale today, giving punters wrist-band access to the gigs at $69 a pop, one of the best valued tickets in the country. Tickets are available from OzTix while those looking for the full BIGSOUND experience including conference and party entry still have some time to grab special rate tickets from www.bigsound.org.au.
