King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have been unwinding by kicking the footy, shooting hoops, and with late night Goldeneye 64 sessions in between writing and recording their brand new album, their fifth in under two years.

At least, that’s what we’re presuming given a new post from the Mighty Melbourne seven-piece, who have been cutting their new LP in New York while on their virgin tour of America, in which the band are attempting to offload their gear before they head back from their overseas adventure.

“We are cleaning out the studio to head back home to Aus,” the band write to their Facebook followers, with images of the equipment they’ve got for sale that’s “available for pickup in Brooklyn or delivery in the area.”

Among the music gear on offer is a $300 vintage acoustic guitar, a P.A. system with cables (“everything you need to rock out this summer”) and mic stands in “all shapes and sizes.” You can also pick up a King Gizzard-used footy or basketball for $10 a piece (“or you can just have ’em for free”).

And the real jewel: a Nintendo 64 console with three controllers and a copy of the classic 1997 James Bond videogame, Goldeneye; “Dam, facility, aztec etc. Been clocked, all levels available – DK mode, paintball mode you name it. Sit at home and shoot some bad guys. Make an offer.”

The seven-piece recently finished their as-yet-untitled new LP at Brooklyn’s legendary Daptone studios (as pictured in the happy snap below) which, as previously reported, is one of two new records King Gizzard have up their prolific sleeves in the coming months.

As well as the Daptone-cut follow-up to the “brilliantly uninhibited” OddmentsKing Gizzard’s debut American and Canada tour plans – backed by their $50,000 Carlton Dry Global Music Grant – has included holing up in a lodge in New York’s Catskill Mountains for a month-long ‘writing sabbatical’ towards what will be their sixth album, “scheduled for release in early 2015.”

The band’s current overseas campaign has seen them perform at Canadian Music Week, a 12-date run of the US East Coast, and at Austin Psych Fest, where they “picked up more than a few new fans with [their] hair-whipping garage psych,” according to an Austin Chronicle review of their set. King Gizz then scored additional US dates, including a slot at Northside Festival and a residency at Baby Alright, the Brooklyn venue where they’ll again play tomorrow night.

Following pulling a Lou Reed‘ with their impromptu gear sale, the group will return home next month before taking off for Europe later in the year for a tour, as well as appearance at Iceland’s Airwaves Festival. Along with that forthcoming new LP, one of our 25 most anticipated releases for the remainder of 2014.
