This one’s a biggie for anybody interested in community radio; with the Melbourne group responsible for giving young australians across the country a massive leg-up through analogue and digital broadcasting and television is looking to recruit a key leader. SYN (Student Youth Network) are looking for a new General Manager to carry on the great work of Tahlia Azaria as she steps down from the role (as Radio Info reports). The passionate music lover they’re looking for will be leading the daily operations and major projects of the independent, not-for-profit organisation by working closely with SYN’s Board; in turn carving out a huge cultural imprint on Australia’s broadcasting landscape and helping nurture the next generation of media talent. Sound’s like a killer role to us.

If you believe that artists should be compensated for their creative work, then you’ll be able to make a huge difference working for one of the world’s leading electronic and dance music companies. The well-established Ministry Of Sound brand have a vacant position open in their Royalties Department, looking for someone energetic and creative to join their Sydney office, helping ensure artists get the correct royalty payments “accurate and on time, ever time.” There’s a lot of data crunching involved, as well as processing and dealing with enquiries and bottom line, an awesome chance for an analytically minded music fan.

Savvy on the web design and online skills? Universal Music Australia wants you. The major label’s head office in Sydney is offering a 12-month contract for the talented individual who knows their WordPress and HTML from their CMS and Javascript. Those with a background in LAMP, project management, and microdata experience will gain an extra edge in applications too. There’s a lot of digital projects to be completed for UMA, including the development and maintenance of their music content and GetMusic web store. With a huge international roster that features everything from Bruce Springsteen to U2, there’s plenty of daily inspiration too.

Ever read the tweets and Facebook posts of your favourite website and thought, “I could do better”. Now’s your chance to prove it. Sound Alliance, the Sydney-based company behind FasterLouder, Mess+Noise, Inthemix, Junkee, and Same Same is hiring, seeking an experienced social media guru to handle their digital presence for their websites across multiple platforms. QLD Council Administration & Events Coordinator

Quick sticks on this one, because applications close today. Offering a foot in the door of a Local Government position while handling events for the folk of Queensland’s Top End, this position, listed by Burke Shire Council offers a nice salary and career extras, including relocation assistance for those out-of-town applicants. Imagine birthing the next great local music festival or helping a small-town band make it big off of grant money, that’s the potential here. As the Administration and Events Coordinator of Burketown, Queensland, the successful applicant would be helping develop unique events and activities while working closely with community and council. There’s also some day-to-day assistance with grant applications and enhancing communication between council and community.
