If you’re looking for a window into Melbourne’s underground gang of futuristic club producers, Tom Hitchcock, aka Deer, is a good place to start looking.

Virtually the Australian representative of the meta movement in electronica being led by buzzed names like Ryan Hemsworth, Trippy Turtle and Djemba Djemba, Deer fuses influences in Jersey club, R&B and rap into club-ready, forward-thinking sounds for the internet generation.

Deer’s latest slice of nxt-lvl beats is a remix of London producer MssngNo’s ‘XE2’. It injects the original with a higher tempo and choppy, splicing, warping beats, throwing out any predictability by twisting right when you expect it to turn. The only consistency is the candy-sweet vocal warp of R. Kelly’s ‘I’m A Flirt’, which gets manipulated perfectly above Deer’s busy cacophony of turnt-up future noise.

Expect the basement of The Liberty Social to be vibing on this one when he hits the decks tonight. Yum.
