Having trouble keeping up with the furious pace of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s recording output? Or are you simply a newbie who needs a primer in their brand of genre-bleeding psych-rock?
You could always download their entire discography for free, right? Well, rather than let you sail off into the murky waters of music piracy and illegal downloading, the mighty Melbourne seven-piece have done all the work for you, offering a free download of their entire four-album, one-EP output to date as a single digital download.
“Hello internet. Because we are in the future, and I had some time on my hands, here is (pretty much) our entire discography for you to download for free,” writes singer-guitarist Stu MacKenzie in a post on the official King Gizzard Facebook this morning.
“Share the love,” he encourages, with a direct MediaFire link to a .zip file containing everything from the band’s debut release Willoughby’s Beach and first full-length 12 Bar Bruise through to “psychedelic western audiobook” Eyes Like The Sky, last year’s Float Along, Fill Your Lungs, and their latest – the “brilliantly uninhibited” Oddments.
We can only guess what the band’s associated label, Remote Control, will have to say about it but it’s certainly an ace freebie for anyone interested, and a great way for American fans to play catch-up on the band’s swift rise from Coastal knockabouts to international ambassadors for top-tier Aussie music.

The discography download follows the conclusion of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s virgin American tour – funded with the $50,000 prize money earned from the inaugural Carlton Dry Global Music Grant.
Their US and Canada tour campaign saw them playing Canadian Music Week, a 12-date run of the US East Coast, and at Austin Psych Fest, where they “picked up more than a few new fans with [their] hair-whipping garage psych,” according to the Austin Chronicle.
The Gizz then score additional US dates – including a slot at Northside Festival and a residency at Brooklyn Venue, Baby Alright, and a show at New York’s McCarren park (view footage below). They then ‘pulled a Lou Reed‘, hosting an impromptu sale of instruments and studio gear (and vintage N64) online before departing the US. Their American trip also saw the septet hiring out a cabin in the Catskill Mountains for a month-long ‘writing sabbatical’ towards what will be their sixth album, “scheduled for release in early 2015,” and putting the finishing touches on their as-yet untitled fifth album at NYC’s legendary Daptone studios – one of our most anticipated releases for the next six months of 2014.

The band return home this month before heading off for Europe later in the year for more international touring, including a scheduled appearance at this year’s Iceland’s Airwaves Festival.
Australia’s hardest working band? You better believe it.
