The Gang Of Youths Australian Tour 2014 has been announced as the Sydney band release the new video for ‘Poison Drum’.

Currently in the Top 20 most played tracks at Triple J, ‘Poison Drum’ is the current single for the Sydney five-piece following on from the “emotional-ass concept rock” crafted in lead singles ‘Evangelists‘ and ‘Riverlands’.

The video was shot in LA with guitarist Joji Malani describing the experience as “probably the best week of our lives,” he says; “being the pseudo alternatives we are, decided to spoil the culture of LA with us doing shitty, cringeworthy things like being carted around on pulleys in a skidrow piñata store and sucking on noodles in Chinatown.” Take a look at the video below.

Having played sold out shows with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Frightened Rabbit, and Manchester Orchetra, fans in Sydney and Melbourne will see Gang Of Youths support Foster The People later this month at their Splendour In the Grass sideshows.

Gang Of Youths will also play a string of headline show in August, so if you missed their sold out shows in May, now’s your chance to see their live show which has mouths a-flapping with glowing reviews. “The group played a mesmerising brand of indie rock yet maintained a lively stage presence,” according to our Tone Deaf reviewer who caught the band supporting The Jezabels Australian Tour earlier this year.

Already shaping up to be ‘ones to watch’ by FBi’s SMAC awards,Triple J’s Next Crop, NME, and Spotify, Gang Of Youths have finished up their debut album at the NY studios of producer Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Real Estates, Swans), and we’re already banking on it to live up to the hype they’ve already generated.

Don’t miss your chance to grab tickets to the Gang Of Youths Australian Tour 2014, you might not get to see them in such intimate spaces next time.
