It feels like every day a new Aussie MC pops onto our radar and drops a release that captures our attention and today is no exception. Meet Briggs, a tenacious young rapper originally from Shepparton in country Victoria.

Working alongside Australian music icon Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, the duo have released ‘The Hunt’ – an incredibly powerful single combining urban style, rural sensibility and outback integrity.

Yunupingu was in a hotel room when he heard ‘The Wrong Brother’ the lead single from Briggs’ first 2010 debut album The Blacklist, the song resonated deeply with the former Yothu Yindi member. Gurrumul was still singing the track the next day and plans for a seemingly unlikely collaboration were born.

‘The Hunt’ is the first single off Brigg’s upcoming LP ShepLife, set for release August 22nd via Golden Era.
