‘Up’ is the first single from Siskin River’s forthcoming debut album. A joint creation between sisters Shalane and Tullara Connors, with engineering and production by ARIA award nominees Robin Mai and Nicky Bomba, the single is accompanied by a haunting music video by Clayton Jacobson (maker of hit Australian mocumentary ‘Kenny’).

On the surface ‘Up’ is a song about a dead man coming back to life. Scratch below and the track is about the dissatisfaction and corruption of today’s society and culture as seen through the gaze of someone who has tired of death, and who has dragged themselves up from the earth to savour the sights and sounds of a life left behind.

Siskin River’s debut The Hours They Keep is out on August 15.
