What They Sound Like? The Brisbane-based producer makes next-wave, digital sounds for the internet generation. Floating through one of UV Boi’s trappy, bass-filled soundscapes is like scrolling through an RSS feed filled with Tumblr-aesthetic graphics and sadwave iconography. At times he flat-peddles his production into overdrive, creating noisy club-tailored cuts filled with iPhone text-tone samples swirling in with gun shots and squeaking toys; then at others, he slows it down to chilled-out comedown jams flecked with sadwave vibes.

Why You Should Care? The online world has already taken serious notice of UV Boi’s defined and refreshing sound. The 18-year-old has even seen his idols turning into admirers, with the likes of Ryan Hemsworth, Nina Las Vegas and the Sad Boys crew all declaring themselves as stans. With UV Boi launching off on his inaugural Australian tour this July, the young prodigy seems ripe to turn his rising internet momentum into IRL success.

You’ll Love It If You Dig: Ryan Hemsworth, Yung Lean, Spooky Black & DEER.

Tracks You Need To Hear: ‘MoneyWeed’, ‘Aquatic’ and new single ‘THANK U’.
