Back beat, the word is on the street that Liam Gallagher’s New York apartment is for sale.

I’m sure you’ve seen rockstar homes before, but this one is well worth checking out. I don’t believe that anybody lives the way that Liam does – we’ll show you how.

What’s the story? The former Oasis/current Beady Eye frontman has put his 1,575 square-foot two-bed Manhattan condo on the market for US$ 4 million. Gallagher’s Big Apple getaway is located on the 17th floor of Essex House, a building situated next to Central Park and within gobbing distance of Carnegie Hall and Fifth Avenue, and was recently renovated with coffered ceilings, wide-plank herringbone floors, central air conditioning, and a chef’s kitchen with a 40-bottle wine cooler.

A quick virtual poke around inside the British musician’s digs, courtesy of Elliman (via Curbed), shows that he’s got some particularly (and suitably) common decor tastes for a Rock ‘N’ Roll Star – scope the cheetah-print wallpaper and the Union Jack drapes in the kids’ bedroom, for instance. Don’t worry, just roll with it.

There’s plenty of room in the spacious living and dining rooms to entertain rockstar guests too (‘care for a lounge, Mr. Bono?) and with the Essex being one of the tallest towers in the NYC skyline, plenty of views to admire.

Additionally, Gallagher’s unit is associated with the JW Marriot Essex House Hotel, meaning their extra luxury amenities will be extended to the prospective buyer, such as 24-hour room and maid service, a gym, a spa and business centre, plus valet parking.

Gallagher Jnr originally bought the Big Apple apartment for $2.5 million in 2012 and is now asking $4 million for it. Not quite as lavish a profit turnaround as the £10 million flip that Sting made on his own New York home, while Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea is looking for a similar profit on his LA abode.

However, if Gallagher can’t find any immediate buyers, the apartment can be rented out by the hotel’s management if it’s left unoccupied for more than one month. After all, it’s a wonder(wall)ful space.

As for why the 41-year-old frontman is selling his NYC condo, it’s speculated to do with him messing about with multiple mistresses, but we’ll let The Daily Mail fill you in on the gossip.

Take a further look inside the private little Oasis below, and if you need to scratch your voyeuristic itch further – take a virtual tour inside the former properties of a Foo Fighter, a Beatle, a major hip-hop mogul, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, and the Purple One himself, Prince.
