Looking back in time can be good, as many bands made a career out of during the last decade. The Strange Boys take it one step further though, and sound like they could be playing on the juke box at Arnold’s Diner in Happy Days.

A beguiling mixture of the psychobilly addictions of The Cramps playing on stage at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond south of London with The Rolling Stones circa 1961, they’re all jangly guitars and major chords, pumping out tunes of lust, boozin’ and fighting. The fact that they’re from Austin, Texas makes their rock n’ roll Americana all the more authentic. So lo-fi they make The White Stripes sound like Queen, they’re as catchy as chlamydia and sitting on high rotation at Tone Deaf HQ.
