The Beyond The Valley 2014 lineup has been announced, providing a mix of local and international artists covering a wide array of styles for the New Year’s music festival’s first-ever edition.

Following on from the first three acts of the Beyond The Valley 2014 lineup leaking last month, the organisers of the brand new event – taking over the former site of Pyramid Rock on Phillip Island this New Year’s Eve – have revealed the first round of bands and acts that’ll be playing across two stages and two days of live music.

The initial trio of leaked acts – US rapper-turned-chef Action Bronson, Sydney pop rock faves The Preatures, and Platinum dance duo Peking Duk – is a good cross-section of the genres to expect from the bill.

Aussie rock fans will enjoy the presence of Splendour heroes Ball Park Music, psych-rock majors Pond, the folk-rock sounds of Husky, the mighty Midnight Juggernauts and the mutated blues of Lurch & Chief. On the international front, there’s UK duo AlunaGeorge, American producer Dillon Francis, US electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso, and two of the year’s most blogged about acts NZ’s Yumi Zouma and Danish singer MØ.

The Beyond The Valley 2014 lineup also features plenty more Aussie talent, ranging from cutting-edge Aussie electronica (Rüfüs, Collarbones, Willow Beats, Banoffee, Fractures), local producers (Cosmo’s Midnight, Golden Features, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Basenji), DJs (Nina Las Vegas, Thomas Jack) and more.

Organisers are expecting to draw over 10,000 patrons to the inaugural Beyond The Valley. Along with the lineup, the festival is hoping to lure ticketholders with its array of VIP camping options – such as private restrooms and showers, mini-bars, jacuzzis, breakfast buffets, concierges, hammocks, and other luxury amenities.

While the full camping options are still set to be revealed in the coming weeks, today’s lineup announcement further describes punters’s options including the ‘Electric City’, a separate camping area “that will be fully powered for those in tents or in camper vans,” the statement explains.

“Festival-goers will be able to connect their appliances or charge a phone; or simply enjoy the stunning surroundings and glorious nature of Phillip Island with GA camping included for all those who purchase festival tickets.”

Beyond The Valley Director Nick Greco has previously described the event as “a shift away from the super festivals of the past to a boutique camping-style offering aiming to tailor to every taste,” Adding, “we wanted to do something that was a step above what was already being offered … which I think is something that has been lost with some other festivals.”

General public tickets for Beyond The Valley go on sale this Friday 15th August at 9m for $299 (+b/f). Pre-registered tickets for the multi-day event go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday 13th August) at 11am for $279 (+b/f).
