The Falls Festival 2014 lineup has sprung another leak. Just one week on from the first band on the bill for the annual New Year’s event letting slip of their involvement, it looks like we can now add another two international artists to the mix.

The first is US producer Scott Hansen, better know by his downtempo IDM alias, Tycho. As Purple Sneakers reports, Tycho revealed his part in the Falls lineup by posting tour dates for legs at Marion Bay (30th December), Lorne (31st December), and Byron Bay (2nd January) on his official website.

The dates, which at the time of publication had not been taken down, also included an appearance at Falls’ WA equivalent, Sunset Events’ Southbound, for 4th January 2015.

The Australian visit is in support of Tycho’s fourth and latest studio album Awake, released in March this year, and his first Down Under since 2012 when the Californian ambient beatmaker played the Strawberry Fields festival and a pair of sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Tycho was recently named among the Top 20 most blogged about artists of 2014, alongside the likes of Australia’s own Chet Faker, his recent NZ tour support Yumi Zoumi and Danish singer MØ (both booked for the inaugural Beyond The Valley festival), and UK indie RnBnPop quartet Glass Animals – who are also heading out for Falls Festival.

The leaks comes via an interview with Glass Animals frontman Dave Bayley that appears in Cleo magazine (of all places).

As can be seen in the image below, the band are listed as being “announced as part of the line-up for Falls 2014/2015.” Bayley tells Cleo that Australian audiences “blew us away” when the Oxford four-piece made their Aussie tour debut in April this year playing two audiences in Melbourne and Sydney.

A New Year’s appearance will mark Glass Animals’ first shows since releasing their full-length album, Zaba, in June.

Along with Tycho and Glass Animals’ return, Spiderbait drummer Kram lat week all but confirmed they’d be part of the lineup. Explaining the band were in talks “of doing Falls Festival and we’ll do some other festivals in the summer.”

The Falls Festival 2014 lineup is expected to drop in the next week or so, given the announcement has typically landed in mid-August in previous years.

Lana Del Rey is also rumoured for the New Year’s Eve lineup after revealing last month that she plans to tour Australia for “the end of the year” in support of her latest album, Ultraviolence.

Other potential Falls lineup rumour-mongers would do well to look at the acts that played the Splendour & Falls SXSW showcases in Austin earlier this year. Namely, New York indie rockers Skaters, plus US bands Basecamp, De Lux, Drowners and Tor Miller; alongside British acts such as North London alt-rock quartet Wolf Alice, Jetta, and BBC Sound of 2014 picks: “steak and kidney pop” star Chlöe Howl and hard rock twosome Royal Blood.
