Newcomers The Furrs haven’t been around for a long time, but their new track ‘Money’, from the group’s forthcoming debut EP, hints that their sound is firmly anchored in a hazy and slightly disheveled past.

From the persistent guitar riff that worms its way through the track and into your head, to liberal use of high-hat, to the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club-fuzzed vocals, ‘Money’ manages to be both aloof and appealing.

A track that begs to be listened to live, ‘Money’ melds all the hallmarks of 60s pysch pop and 70s blues into one smoky, slightly insouciant package. Sure, it’s retro as hell, but it’s retro done right.
