Splendour In The Grass Accountant

The team behind Australia’s biggest winter music festival have put forward a one-of-a-kind career opportunity, seeking a full time Senior Group Accountant to manage company budgets, coordinating payments, processing invoices and settlements, and other finance duties. Working with a small team of financial professionals from Village Sounds booking and Secret Sounds, the role means being involved with not only the prestigious Splendour In The Grass festival, but also Falls Festival. Necessary qualifications include practical accounting and music industry experience, plus there’s some travel involved (with the role situated in Byron Bay). With potential career progression “both internally and within the broader group,” this is a huge foot-in-the-door for any numbers-minded music professionals.

Universal Royalty Processing

Love blockbuster acts like Eminem, U2, The Presets, and Empire of the Sun? Want to help make sure they compensated for their creative work? Then here’s where you can make a huge difference to some of the biggest artist payrolls in the world. The Royalties team at Universal Music Australia’s Sydney offices is currently looking for a new member to work on accounts for the record label’s huge roster. Responsibilities include liaising with artists and their managers, prepping royalty statements, managing account reports and contracts, and generally supporting the whole artist compensation kit and kaboodle.

Mountain Sounds Festival Marketing/Ticketing/Staffing Manager

Following its inaugural launch earlier this year, the boutique Mountain Sounds music festival is looking to expand their team ahead of its return for 2015. There’s three key positions that need filling, with “experience preferred but not essential” for the Central Coast-based event’s call-out. First off the mark is a Marketing Manager, responsible for promoting and publicising the festival – working with sponsors, on social media, and crafting unique marketing for the event’s brand and identity. Next is the all-important Ticket Manager, organising the processes for everyone getting to the festival – from punters to complimentary guests and staff, mixed with some customer service. Lastly is a Volunteer/Staffing Manager, whose duties include recruiting, scheduling, and assigning volunteers, among responsibilities for OH&S and working with the Administration Manager on the event.

Are you an early-riser who’s got the production skills to craft compelling, entertaining and engaging radio for Australia’s youth? Triple J is looking for someone to coordinate the content and sound of their flagship Breakfast program (that’s Matt and Alex for you n00bz), working with the team on air as well as off (on websites and social media). Organisation, creativity, experience – all are a key elements of the job, as well as embodying the national broadcaster’s effervescent “We Love Music” mantra. Pandora Account Manager

Pandora Internet Radio is one of the world’s leading music streaming services (far bigger in the US than Spotify, iTunes Radio, and other competitors) and there’s a rare job opening for the Australian branch. The Sydney office has an Account Manager position vacant, with the ideal candidate being a multitasking wiz who can work with multiple client campaigns simultaneously, by “planning, implementing, maintaining and enhancing digital and audio buys.” The role requires at least three years’ experience in radio and/or digital, ensuring you’ve got the technical side down pat, but also a knack for dealing with people while still balancing the many logistical tasks of coordinating large-scale campaigns efficiently and to deadline. We’re not gonna lie, the list of work place perks (unlimited sick days!?) also helps sweeten the appeal of a Pandora career.

The Arts Centre Melbourne Programming Coordinator

It seems like every week that the Arts Centre Melbourne has some pretty attractive positions going. Now the team behind popular music, arts, and culture venues are looking for a 12-month fixed full time contract position to support in coordinating the “development and delivery of performances, events, projects and programs.” Team coordination and communication are a must, as the successful applicant will be working across multiple key areas (the Programming Unit, Family and Youth, Learning and Access, Digital Learning Hub, and Performing Arts), as well as being the first point of contact for the Arts Centre Melbourne’s stakeholders.

The Music Generation Business Manager

A social enterprise dedicated to the accessibility of music and education, The Music Generation is a Melbourne-based initiative that operates everything from a mobile music school, to music tuition (via Skype/face-to-face/etc.), events, and a collaborative and community-minded spirit in their Cultural Music Program and Social Projects. They’re also looking to hire a part-time business manager to “take charge of our Melbourne office.” Working closely with founder Meera Fernandes, the all rounder role’s day-to-day involves maintaining relationships with contractors and suppliers, customer connections, staff management, industry operations, and working with the Marketing & Advertising team on projects.
